Emma James

The Rockport Songwriter Association is pleased to announce the first recipient of the Rockport Song Cast is Corpus Christi based singer songwriter Emma James.  The Song Cast is a peer nominated program that selects young Texas songwriters and pairs them with a studio and producer to create a collection of their songs. This project will be pressed into a CD package and given to the artist at no cost, along with a performance slot at the Rockport Songwriter Festival on November 9th, 2024.  Emma is recording her project at the Coastal Bend Music studio in Rockport, TX with producer/engineer Jules Taylor.  Emma was nominated by The Corpus Christi Songwriter Association, where she has been an active member for several years. 

The Rockport Songwriter Festival will be held November 7th to November 10th of this year.  Our first announcement is the addition of a Thursday night fundraiser dinner/action followed by a special performance by Larry Joe Taylor and friends.  Friday night is Robert Earl Keen with Kelly Willis.  Saturday night is Terry Allen and Friends and our faves Shawn Camp and Verlon Thompson close us out Sunday night.  Lots of daytime performers and events Saturday and Sunday, too.
